Rach & Johnny’s Fenland farm wedding was a real joy to be part of, having known Rach since we started secondary school together in 1996, a mere 27 years ago! The wedding was held on Rach’s family farm – out in the fens near Wisbech – a mixture of orchards and arable under that expansive fen sky. The ceremony was in a beautiful spot under the shade of the trees by her grandfather’s pond, which guests reached by following a winding path mowed through a wild flower meadow. Two close friends of the couple acted as celebrants to conduct the ceremony, and this enabled them to curate a truly personal and unique ceremony. After the tailor-made ceremony, the champagne was popped and poured before guests gathered for a few speeches. After a few photos of the newlyweds, it was then time to head to Rach and Johnny’s beautiful home for the wedding breakfast. Guests were seated on their patio pergola which was able to accommodate everyone and the setting looked fantastic with colourful flowers and decorations. After a leisurely dinner, guests enjoyed some outdoor games such as croquet and then spilled into the marquee while other evening guests arrived. Pizza was served from a street food van as the sun was setting, and an awesome band kept everyone glued to the dance floor throughout the night. Before we lost the mid-summer light we took a stroll through the orchard out the back of the farm for a few relaxed portraits of Rach & Johnny, with the trusty labrador tagging along too. This Fenland farm wedding was also the first time I had tried using my new drone at a wedding, to get a different perspective on proceedings.
