Fort Henry and Barnsdale Lodge wedding

Sarah and James were guests at two weddings I photographed last year, so I already felt like I was amongst friends for this fun-packed, Barnsdale Lodge wedding. The day began with Sarah getting ready at Barnsdale Lodge with her four bridesmaids, before making the short journey to the beautiful Fort Henry at Exton Park where James was waiting with his ushers. I’d never been to this Rutland venue before, but I was truly excited to shoot at this stunning location set in gorgeous parkland and on the shores of a picturesque lake. After the ceremony we had time for some family photos and portraits of Sarah and James around the Fort Henry wedding venue. At the same time the guests enjoyed some liquid refreshments and listened to a great acoustic guitarist.

The entire wedding party then headed over to Barnsdale Lodge for more drinks and great classical piano music in the background. Everyone then took their seats for the wedding breakfast and speeches. At every place setting Sarah and James had supplied a novel for each guest as a wedding favour. I’d never seen this before but thought it was a fantastic personal touch. After the speeches the band started playing and everyone took to the dance floor and remained there late into the night. I also got to bring along my fancy dress photobooth so guests could let loose and pose for plenty of fun party pictures for a few hours. This Rutland wedding was a real blast – many congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Vickers and thanks for letting me document your day for you!

If you’re looking for a photographer for your Barnsdale Lodge wedding or your Fort Henry wedding then please get in touch! I’m located just 20 minutes from this venue and it would be fantastic to return at some point soon.
